Game Engine: Anvil

Games like the Assassin’s creed owe what they are to the game engine Anvil. Available for Microsoft Windows, playstation3, xbox 360, and wiiU.  Previously known as
Scimitar, this game engine is own by Ubisoft. The name changed after Scimitar was used on the first assassin’s creed, Prince of Persia, and Shaun White snowboarding. After that, the named switched to Anvil once it had undergone technical improvements. These improvements were made in the vegetation, which was borrowed from Far cry 2, a new cloth system, improved lighting, reflections, and night and day cycles.
Currently, the game engine is being reworked once again for the new upcoming Assassin’s creed game. It’s being called Anvilnext, is supposed to set some high standards. It has been confirmed by Game Informer to be dealing with new features like deferred lighting, ambient occlusion, a new camera mode, and improved crowd AI that interacts more frequently with the player.
